Rebirth After Katrina -Distant Atmosphere collection by Artist Judith Rowley
Louisville, KY, – Nationally known painter and sculptor Judith Rowley will discuss and
present sculpture inspired by reclamation art from the depths of Katrina. The opening reception
featuring New Orleans inspired cuisine is Friday September 22, 6 PM -9 PM.
“All the materials that were used to create the sculptures in the Distant
Atmosphere Collection were gathered from the Mississippi Gulf Coast
after Hurricane Katrina. Nature’s ravages of destruction created an
incomprehensible landscape but the human spirit rose-up to reclaim life
in this magnificent region”.
Established in 2008, Koi Gallery is locally owned, located inside the Galt House Hotel and Suites, 140
North 4 th Street, Suite 328. The Gallery features Delanor Manson’s handmade gemstone and sterling
silver jewelry and 30 other artists work of oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, photography, fiber, clay,
bronze, paper and metal sculptures, wire work, leather, wood, stained glass, hand dyed silk clothing and
