Originally known as the Republic Bank First Friday Hop and the Trolley Hop, the event has evolved over the years to become a cornerstone of Louisville’s cultural calendar. The Trolley Hop began as a way to promote downtown businesses and galleries, offering free trolley rides to various stops. Over time, the event grew in popularity and scope, eventually rebranding as the First Friday Hop to better reflect its diverse offerings and the vibrant energy of Louisville’s arts district.
