Join Block Party on Thursday, April 13th at Block Party Handmade Boutique downtown from 4:00pm-8:00pm for a carnival themed pug party and fundraiser!

From 4:00pm – 8:00pm world renowned Artist/Cartoonist/Writer/Illustrator Gemma Correll will be drawing custom pet portraits for a suggested donation of $25. Proceeds from the portraits will benefit the Bluegrass Pug Rescue. Bring your pet or a photo of your furry friend and Gemma will transform it into an adorable illustration as only she can! There will be a “Gemma Gallery” with a wide selection of gifts, books, art prints, and more available for sale, as well as an exclusive T-Shirt and art print design from Gemma for Block Party in honor of Kentuggy. Ms. Correll will be available to autograph all Gemma merchandise. This is our 2nd annual Gettin’ Puggy event (hence the Getting’ Puggier!) and are thrilled that Gemma will be traveling to visit us again for this fun event.

Enjoy pug themed carnival games, raffle to win a Pet Cube plus lots of other amazing prizes from local sponsor Barks on Bauer, SnoWhat Snowballs will be on site selling pet and human frozen treats, West 6th Beer available, and get your pug shot taken with Magnolia Photo Booth Co.! Raffle will benefit the pug rescue, as well as 100% of the donations from the pet portraits, and a portion from beer, food, and art sales.

Bluegrass Pug Rescue’s mission is to rescue abused, abandoned, homeless unwanted, sick or injured Pugs, rehabilitate them and place them into loving, permanent adoptive homes in Kentucky. We strive to educate the public about the Pug dog breed including its personality, special needs, and care. We provide needed medical care and spay or neuter operations for all of the Pugs that come into our rescue. Bluegrass PugRescue is an all-volunteer 501 (c)(3) organization.
