  • Garner Narrative

    • garner narrative celebrates art with generative messiness and personal-political content. These are some hallmarks of a committed studio practice, in which fluid personal truth is defined through artmaking.

In a contemporary narrative artwork, the plot is rarely fixed or linear. The meaning of a story emerges only in conversation with what a person brings to it. This is a source of tremendous energy and creative possibility.

  • Green Building Gallery

    • The award-winning project The Green Building in Louisville, KY opened in the Fall of 2008 in the East Market District, the heart of NuLu, Louisville’s arts district.

Renovation of the 119 year old masonry structure, a former dry goods store, was commenced by owners Augusta and Gill Holland in spring 2007 when they decided to become the first commercial building in Louisville KY to go for LEED platinum certification (the US Green Building Council’s designation of a sustainable building). Intent upon rescuing the building from decades of misuse, the project included resuscitating the structural masonry shell and infusing it with a modern core, including a 40 foot high lobby, expansive natural lighting, eco-friendly materials, and renewable energy systems, as well as extensive solar power, geothermal wells, and recycled denim insulation. The Green Building Gallery, event spaces, and an indoor-outdoor courtyard. The Green Building was most recently home to SonaBLAST! Records, Holland Brown Books, and The Group Entertainment, and now houses Edj Analytics and SuperFanU.

  • Grind Burger Kitchen

    • My husband Jesse and I began as Grind Gourmet Burger Truck in the Spring of 2012 and by June of 2014 we had grown into a permanent location. We sacrificed everything when we moved to a brick and mortar location in the popular NuLu neighborhood and turned it into a thriving restaurant that has received local and national attention. By partnering with local and regional farms and suppliers for ingredients, Grind has become an ambassador for the local food movement in Louisville. It’s our mission to serve a superior, chef-driven burger using the best local and regional ingredients available prepared and served by happy employees that are paid a fair wage. We look forward to sharing our passion for good food and good people with you.
