Star Stuff Now Streaming
KMAC Couture: Star Stuff is now streaming!

Produced by KMAC Museum and Audi of Louisville in conjunction with Uproar Films, KMAC Couture: Star Stuff is a celebration of original couture pieces of wearable art and high-concept fashion. The film gives viewers an up-close look at the breathtaking creativity of emerging and established artists, costume and clothing designers, and milliners, while documentary-style vignettes provide a glimpse at the hard work behind the glamour.  With KMAC Museum’s exhibitions and downtown Louisville as a backdrop, you’ve never seen art and fashion like this.

Vernissage Goes Virtual
Virtual Vernissage
Friday, November 20

An exclusively virtual, extraordinarily vital evening celebrating art, craft and community-building.

Join us for Vernissage 2020, a private preview party showcasing KMAC Museum’s upcoming Fall exhibitions.  It’s your chance to sneak a peak at Brooklyn artist Jordan Nassar’s takeover of KMAC’s 2nd floor, and at Louisville artist Ramona Lindsey’s carefully curated collection of five local artists’ interpretations of Louisville’s parks through photography.  We’ll enjoy conversations with the artists, a virtual tour “behind closed doors” to see some prized KMAC artworks at the homes of private collectors and – to round out the night – a spoken-word performance from Louisville artist and activist Hannah L. Drake.  This festive virtual evening will be hosted by KMAC board members Debbie Huddleston Mitchell and Chris Welsh.

More information and tickets available soon at KMACmuseum.org/vernissage.

KMAC Education
Adult Workshops
Sketching with Watercolor
We’ve just released our full slate of adult workshops for fall, and the line-up is truly exciting. In November, join artist Charlotte Pollock to learn how to sketch with watercolors, with a focus on kitchen botanicals. This peaceful and meditative artistic practice encourages observation and is perfect for beginners.

For those of you ready for the Christmas holidays, join KMAC Couture artist Alyson Thiel to learn the art of paper flowers. You’ll finish the class with two large poinsettias perfect for holiday decorating and a wealth of paper flower sculpture techniques for your own experimentation.

Finally, why not try hand-crafting a few of your holiday gifts this year? In December, we’ll be offering adult workshop attendees the chance to craft their own contemporary jewelry from polymer clay. Get tips and tricks from an experienced KMAC educator as you craft earrings and a necklace, perfect for holiday gifting.
